My Socks Are on Fire!

I ain't blue.

Well everybody I know updated their blogs today, or at least recently so I though I should put a little something here too. "What's been going on?" I hear you ask. Well I'm still kind of looking for a job, but it's not looking good. I'm having trouble being motivated, and while I want money, I don't really want to work for it. We (being me Kels, Cammy, and Kat) are going to Scarborough Fair on memorial day, and it'll be cool. I want to wear a toga for my costume but Kels wont let me because she says it's from the wrong renaissance. With any luck I'll be able to get my chainmail dice bag fixed. The bottom link fell out and now it's just a tube.

I've started work on a D&D campaign, so feel free to point and laugh at my nerdedness. I think it'll be fun to be DM, and also fun if Kels joins John and Connor in playing. I think it'd be cool if we had one more player though.

Swoony is a cool dude. He's Korean and living in Canada. His blog is primarily to practice his English but it's still cool.

Kels and I have started watching Angel season one, last year before I went to college we started watching every episode of Buffy, and we managed to finish over Christmas break. So now it's on too Angel, but I only own the first four seasons of it, so I'll have to buy the last one once we get there, but Amazon has it for pretty cheap.

It's the end of the world as we know it.

I'm not original.

I thought that the title of this blog was pretty durn nifty, and I came up with it all on my own. While that maybe the case, I'm apparently not the niftyest person around. A google blog search puts my nifty little site at fourth place, out of ten. I mean I knew about the
Twin Peaks thing, but I thought that was just two wacky minds working on the same wavelength many moons apart. So I think it's time for a new name. I'm working on a list of possible choices, but I can't remember how I changed the subdomain last time. So for now My socks are on fire stays as it is. One possible choice is Engineer on Stage, but I'm definitely not an engineer anymore, so it would be kinda silly.

We have a new puppy at our house. Lady made her last trip to the vet when I came home for Easter. Our new puppy is named Angel, she is eight years old worked as a breeder and was very emaciated when the golden rescue league got her. She's still really skinny and eats about eight cups of food a day. When she gets back to full health she should be about sixty pounds, which is still about twenty pounds smaller than Lady.

I'm looking for a job now that I'm back home for the summer. I applied at Virgin, the music store, and I have an interview there tomorrow, but I think I'd rather have the other job I applied for at a pool supply warehouse. The manager at Virgin told me there were very sales oriented, instead of customer service focused. I don't think I want to be pushing product. I may also apply at EB Games, and the Melting Pot, the fondue place Kels works at. I could be a serving assistant, which is a fancy name for busboy, but it's hard to find a place that's just hiring for summer work. I'm not going back to Barnes and Noble because the store closed, and I don't want to work at the new one. The fact that the store closed is problematic because my prosective employers can't contact them and find out how cool I was there.

Because in all of the whole human race, Mrs. Lovett,
There are two kinds of men and only two.
There's the one staying put
In his proper place
And the one with his foot
In the other one's face

It's time for another "Why aren't you studying?" post!

I'm currently wearing my hiking underwear, the kind that area really tight and keep one from getting rashes and the like while hiking, because I am leaving Tech on Tuesday and I don't want to do laundry. I have three pairs of this type of underwear, which is nice because after those I am forced to use the dreaded "Hooters" boxers that have no fly. My father has gotten me pair signed by Hooters Girls for Christmas in the past, a nice gift, but they are unwearable because you have to pull your pants down around your ankles when nature calls. Needless to say this makes public restrooms slightly embarrassing.

I don't know if I've mentioned this guy before, but he puts up a couple mp3's every Monday and I have a playlist of them on iTunes. He has a really cool taste in music and I have found many good bands from him in the past, including but not limited to Space Hog, Mr. Bungle, and MC's both Paul Barman and Chris. He even had the soundtrack to Little Shop of Horrors in french. I cant remember why I first found his site, but I've been reading it for years. It's weird the things you find at random on the web. I also found this blog before blog was even a word, and she always has a nifty link or two to look at. I happened across one of my favorite bands Ookla the Mok because I was just looking for a list of super powers to make a list for an RPG I never actually managed to DM. I do know that my mother finds interesting blogs to read by searching for this one. She found it once, but I switched the subdomain, and stopped using certain key words that I definitely won't put here now.

The Simpsons starts at 7 and I'm almost definitely going to study for my Calc final after that. I'm not happy with myself because I'm probably going to get a C in this class, because I didn't work as much as I should have. I will however almost definitely make an A in my theatre class, because I needed 6 points out of 20 to make an A, meaning I had to get at least one point from each question.

I am what I am.

You probably don't know it, so I'm going to tell you.

A few posts back I started of by saying "I'm doing what, now?" and as the opener of this post implies, I'm going to tell you that I stole this intro from another blog that I read every once in a blue moon. The blog is called You're doing what? and it's about one of the homeschooloing families that along with my mother, started what was then called the Grapevine Area Homeschoolers. Now they still homeschool their eight, working on nine, children, but they're doing it while living and working on a farm. I've joked about this family before (although not here to my knowledge) but they are incredible because what they're doing is following their dream. Roger and Melissa have always wanted to live on a self sustaining farm, and they are working towards that goal. The reason I used (a modified version of) their blog title, is because that's what I want to do too. No not live on a farm, but follow my dream. Years ago, I said to myself (and my mother who was also in the car) "I want to be a crazy proffessor, I think I'd be really good at that." however I've spent an entire school year telling myself that I wanted to be an engineer. I don't really know why I thought this, but my mom thinks it's because I see myself as smart and smart people become engineers. Whatever the reason, it was what I wanted to do. I have since changed my mind, or come to a realization about those thoughts. They're wrong, the young me was right. An atheist nut was once paraphrased as saying "remember what you wanted to do as a kid, so you can do it when you're an adult." He was right.

I want to be creative, be it through theatre design, making movies, writing plays, short stories or poems. I want a podcast about anything, and I hope to have one next semester. I want to make a movie about the Dentist Mafia of Grapevine Texas, shot on location with real dentists. I want a family, a beautiful wife two kids, one boy one girl, the boy in scouts. I want to come up with a great joke. I want to be remembered by a complete stranger. I want to finish my one man show.

P.S. A blue moon is actually the name for the second full moon in a month. The last one was in 2001 and the next will be in 2007. I read the Nelson's blog slightly more often than that

No, no, No, nooooooooooo
No, no, No
Stick to the stuff you know
If you wanna be cool
Follow one simple rule
Don't mess with the flow, no No
Stick to the status quo

P.S.S. (post song script) If anybody reads this would you mind identifying yourself by saying soemthing, anyting in the comments. I'm just really curious. (purple monkey dishwasher would be an appriopriate comment)

This is just one man's blog. You will read about my life and what happens therein. Will it change your life? No. Should you read it? Probably not.

I guess this is a good a time as any to welcome any intrepid readers that have stumbled here from facebook. It should be noted that there is some heavy stuff that gets posted here. I should also note that this blog is about me and my outlook. This is one of the few places where I am 100 percent honest. That's not to say that my feelings don't change. What I wrote here three years ago is very different than what I felt three weeks ago, and that is decidedly different that what I felt three days ago. So intrepid readers, I invite you to comb through the archives, but be warned, if we know each other you might be mentioned, I might have used a pseudonym I might not have. Any thing on here is something that I deem worthy to posted on the netterwebs. That means it's important to me. If something I post here bothers you that's OK. But rarely (read:never) will I edit previous posts. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I may not be proud of what I put out here but I mean it. If you want to talk about it go ahead, I have comment links for all of the posts, or you can just ask me about in the real world. If it's here it's fair game for discussion.

Everything here is the intellectual property of the owner unless otherwise indicated. Steal it and I will have my posse of legal students attack you face. There is no fair use of it, just stealing. If you want to quote me, ask first.
