That new sock smell...

a couple weeks ago, Kels and my family joined in a conspiracy against my socks. I wear wool socks. I wear wool socks made by smart wool and I like them a lot. I started wearing them for hiking/backpacking purposes but found that I enjoy the warmth and comfort they provide my feet. All of my socks are from smart wool and either green or grey, I cant usually tell the two colors apart until I'm wearing them and so I often go about with different, but similar, colored socks. Now as these socks were originally intended for use in hiking they have pretty big tops that when pulled up fully come up to just below my calf. Since I'm not a complete dork(don't argue, it's rude,) I push the tops down so they are just bunched up around my shoes if I am wearing shorts. Now because I am a partial dork, I find this works just fine. however my parents, girlfriend and possibly my sister (I'm not sure as to how much she contributed,) decided that they would rectify my partial dorkieness by purchasing me some apparently expensive low cut wool socks online and have them shipped to me. I first learned of the socks existence when my family came to visit and asked if I had received any packages lately. I told them I hadn't but I had received an email saying there was a package in the office, but I hadn't gotten a pick up slip in my mail box. They told me what it was and I was surprised, but amused that m,y parents would send me socks in the mail. I didn't pick up the package and when Kels came this weekend I found out that she was aware of the socks as well and had helped in their purchase. I felt the situation was just getting silly and didn't pick up the package until today. Inside there were (surprise!) two pairs of black/gray wool socks. I read the card that they were attached to explaining that the company that made them was super environmentally friendly, which is cool, and I tried the socks on. It's very weird wearing socks where my ankle is bare and the hair isn't used to being free as of yet. I haven't made any judgments about them and I will hold out on doing so until I've worn them for a while. I took some pictures but I don't want to upload them right now, maybe later.

the answer is 17.4 roads.

This is just one man's blog. You will read about my life and what happens therein. Will it change your life? No. Should you read it? Probably not.

I guess this is a good a time as any to welcome any intrepid readers that have stumbled here from facebook. It should be noted that there is some heavy stuff that gets posted here. I should also note that this blog is about me and my outlook. This is one of the few places where I am 100 percent honest. That's not to say that my feelings don't change. What I wrote here three years ago is very different than what I felt three weeks ago, and that is decidedly different that what I felt three days ago. So intrepid readers, I invite you to comb through the archives, but be warned, if we know each other you might be mentioned, I might have used a pseudonym I might not have. Any thing on here is something that I deem worthy to posted on the netterwebs. That means it's important to me. If something I post here bothers you that's OK. But rarely (read:never) will I edit previous posts. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I may not be proud of what I put out here but I mean it. If you want to talk about it go ahead, I have comment links for all of the posts, or you can just ask me about in the real world. If it's here it's fair game for discussion.
