<>I was at work the other day and I was getting really hungry because I hadn't eaten much before going to work, just a clementine or something. They're really nice, clementines, like these little oranges but you can peel them with you fingers because the rind is really soft. I had been coming off of the flu, which I had had since Christmas day, and I thought the vitamin c would help. I was going to stop at Target for some cough drops, and maybe some trail mix which I had done in the past. I stopped in at Starbucks first to see if Trey, the guy who sometimes gives me free drinks because I kinda know him, was there, but he wasn't. I decided to get a drink anyway and got the vanilla bean creme drink because I don't like coffee and it's almost a milkshake. While I'm standing in line I see they have these really big cheese danishes on display, I also notice that the sign says "cream cheese danish" which I think is odd, because that's the only kind of cheese they ever use in a danish. I order my drink but I forgot the danish so I had to have the guy behind the counter ring it up separately. I was kind of nervous because there was this lady behind me in line and I know how some people can be if they don't get their coffee fast enough, but she didn't seem to mind. While I was waiting for my drink, I saw they had the honey packets out, this was cool because they're not always there and I don't want to ask for them. I don't use any for my drinks but I do like just eating it so I grab a few packets for later. I always hope the people behind the counter don't see me and get mad, I know they probably wouldn't, after all it's supposed to be there for you to take, but it's also supposed to be used for you drinks, so I feel kind of odd just slipping them in my pocket., while eating my danish. Once my drink is done I check my watch and realize I'll have to hurry so I can be back before my break's over. As I'm walking down the sidewalk a guy sitting with another guy on a bench asks me if I have a cell phone, I quickly say no, and keep walking. A few steps later I stop and ask myself why did I tell him I don't have a phone, it's right in my pocket, but I figure he probably wanted to use it but I wouldn't have let him anyway so it didn't matter because it would have ended the same either way.< /Harvey Pekar>
there, now I just need is for R. Crumb to illustrate it, or anybody else for that matter. And if you don't know who Harvey Pekar is, you need to go find American Splendor, either one of the books or the movie.
The ski trip was cool, but Breckenridge was better, we did visit breckenridge, and Kels and I decided to go early but we got lost on the bus, but we finally got there. We ate at Bubba Gump, with Bevin, David, Jim, and Chris, then we went to the oxygen bar and hurried back to the bus back to Keystone.
Christmas was fun, the Eve of I went to Kels's church because the had a nifty play directed by Bob(not the girl one), and rewritten by Desi(definitely a girl). Then there was a little party later at the Keltners, and my parents showed up and we all played pass the pigs. Christmas morning I woke up got some cool stuff and then went back to bed because I had the flu. It's next Thursday and I''m finally getting better, and I did manage to work 14 hours over the past two days. Yesterday Kels and I went to see the Pendragons at Bass Hall (thanks Desi!), they did some cool magic tricks, but I figured out a lot of them and I saw him palm the flippin rose. But it was still really cool.
